The Fiftieth Anniversary of Brown vs Board of Ed has turned into quite a whinefest.
I was stuck in the gym yesterday and had arrived too late to avoid being stuck with an hour of CNN headline news. One story on the 50th anniversary of Brown vs Board of Ed emphasized the continuing"discrepancies" between whites and blacks in this country.
First was the disparity in incomes between whites and blacks
Second was the disparity in college attendance rates
Third was the disparity in wealth
Nowhere was the disparity in single parent homes mentioned
Nowhere were the demographic differences mentioned(obviously a college graduate of 50 on average will earn more than one of 25)
The subtext was that more needs to be done by the government. Later that day somewhere Lani Guinier was bemoaning ongoing racism-
As many have pointed out-racism is the worldview of the left. Affirmative action-racial set asides-diversity programs
By the way PBS had a Peter Paul and Mary retrospective-besides the way she looked-was anybody besides me embarassed that those talentless clowns once had the ear of a generation-pathetic
