Big Pharma's bread is buttered with government butter. They made a deal with the devil. Now the devil has come to collect. Bad for the rest of us. Good for them.

Speaking of drugs off pattent.

Let us look at anti-anxiety drugs. Pot - if legal - could replace a significant part of a $40 bn. a year market. Now guess who is one of the chief proponents of pot prohibition? Big Pharma.

I have zero sympathy for rent seekers.

Zero.

AS long as there is demand there will be development. It may be done differently though.

BTW there is a body of research out there beginning to show that "addiction" is really self medication for medically unrecognized pain.

It is no wonder we are not winning the drug war. Drugs are not the problem.
