Link: Great McGinty, The (1940).
I remember this movie and the great cynicism of the boss played by Akim Tamaroff. After corruption is exposed there is a great clamor for reform. The crooked boss of course has all the "reformers" on his payroll in reserve and ready to go.
In some way this makes me feel the dems will pull down "values" from the shelf and trot out Jimmy Carter type Christians who wil opine that poverty, war and the enviroment are values issues too.
Hard to believe a party that believes in sucking the brains out of living babies will be able to sell itself as the party of "values"
I know posting was non-existent-there really was nothing more to say about the election-we had a great sense of relief-also our 18 year old voted for the first time and voted for Bush-saying wartime leadership was the only real issue-so we were 3 for 3. Both younger boys voted for Bush in the school straw poll.
